Walter Britton Howard was born on 23 Dec 1917 in Cape Fear, Chatham, NC. He was the second child of Connie and Mattie (Maddox) Howard. He's pictured above with his older brother and my grandfather Lester Howard. My grandfather would entertain us grandkids with stories of childhood adventures that usually involved Uncle Walter, too.
