Wordless Wednesday - Cute Baby

This is one of my unknown photographs that I believe the cousins can help me identify.  I think I know who the child is, but I am not quite sure.  I also do not want to say quite yet, so I do not bias anyone with the answer.  The writing on the back of the photograph says: This was made at the age of one year and 18 days.  Nov 19, 1909  Further down written in pen (yikes!) and in a different handwriting: Not any of Silas and Winnie children.   That tells me this is a Haley child and not one of my grandmother's siblings.

Any one know the identity of this child?

Oops!  Again, I cannot seem to be "wordless" on Wordless Wednesdays.

Wordless Wednesday My Grandmother's Scrapbook

Front page of Cecile White Howard's scrapbook. Notice the spelling of her first name.  In 1932 she had not added the "e" to the end of her name.

Wordless Wednesday - Comer Cousins

Tommie Sprinkle, Mary Comer, Webster Comer
Cecil White
Wordless Wednesday (with an explanation!)  This is a photograph from the teenage scrapbook of Cecile White Howard.  She's the tall girl in the back.  Mary and Webster Comer would have been her cousins, but I'm not so sure about Tommie Sprinkle.  I haven't found any other Sprinkles in the White family line.

I do have a number of photographs of my grandmother's friends and cousins taken in Surry County, NC.  If you are researching families in this area, let me know.  You never know.  I might have a photograph of your ancestor!

Unidentified Photograph - Can You Help?

It has been a while since I have posted a photograph of unidentified individuals.  The above photograph was among the belongings of my great grandmother Esther Lee Richardson.  I am not sure if these young men are ancestors of mine or just friends of Esther's.  (She had a lot of friends and a lot of beaus!)  I suspect this photograph was taken in the Danville, VA area or in the South Boston,VA area.

If you recognize any of these young men, let me know!

Wordless Wednesday - One Grandfather, One Doll, One Bandaid

Here is what happens when you fall asleep with young children (i.e. me) in the house.  Do so at your own risk.

Wordless Wednesday - Another Bathing Beauty

Ooops! It would appear I got my days mixed up!  It's Tuesday not Wednesday.  We'll just pretend it's Wednesday.

Elma Talbott Solomon
It is just too hot outside not to share another photo of an ancestor in a bathing suit.  Meet my great aunt Elma.  I think she looks very stylish.

Wordless Wednesday : Grandmom in a Bathing Suit

Cecile White Howard
I really just couldn't resist!  How many people can say they have photos of their grandmothers in a bathing suit?

Wordless Wednesday Who Could They Be?

Three  Unidentified Women

This is a large (almost 8 x 10) photo of three unidentified women.  They are likely from Pittsylvania County, VA.  The photo was in the collection of my great grandmother Esther Lee Richardson Talbott.  Some in the family believe the women may have been school teachers.  They do have the school teacher "look".  Anyway, if any cousins or Virginia researchers recognize these women, I would love to hear from you.  (As usual, my Wordless Wednesday is never really wordless!)

Wordless Wednesday Another Unknown

Here is another unknown photo from among my collection. This young man's photo came to me with other photos that were Esther Lee Richardson Talbott's. Perhaps he is a Richardson or Elliott cousin from the Pittslyvania County area of Virginia. I hope another researcher of cousin recognizes him. (Oops! I guess I wasn't so "wordless" again!)
